Hännah Chorman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing therapy services for young adults and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services.
Hännah has experience working with individuals with diverse backgrounds and needs, across numerous areas in the mental health and substance abuse fields. She specializes in working with young adults and adults and is passionate about tailoring her approach to meet clients needs, as they foster the self-awareness that leads to personally meaningful development and growth. Her clinical style is focused on creating an engaging therapeutic environment through use of supportive and open communication, compassion and humor.
Hännah has experience working with those struggling Anxiety, Depression, Mood Instability, Traumatic Stress, Addiction and Comorbid disorders. She has also worked with those who are challenged with adjusting to new life circumstances, managing stressors or having interpersonal difficulties. Examples of treatment approaches include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as therapeutic approaches focused on Person Centered and Existential techniques, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention planning, and mindfulness-based practices.
Hännah graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the State University of New York in Plattsburgh and received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Community Psychology from the Sage Graduate Schools. There she also received a certificate in Forensic Mental Health and a certificate in the training for eligibility as a CASAC-T.
