Jessy L. Davey, LMSW

Jessy is a Licensed Master Social Worker, providing therapy services for adolescents and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services.

Jessy has years of experience providing clinical services to adolescents through late adulthood, ages 12 to 70. Jessy has expertise working with a diverse range of clients, particularly those struggling with PTSD/trauma, interpersonal/family violence, emotional/behavioral issues, anxiety, and/or depression.

Jessy received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and her M.S.W. in Clinical Social Work from SUNY Albany. She is currently completing a second Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology at SUNY Albany. During graduate school Jessy completed a one year internship at the Albany Stratton VA Hospital, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings with veterans struggling with PTSD/complex trauma and/or varying mental health concerns. Following graduation, Jessy worked as the sole clinician on an inpatient psychiatric unit providing acute therapy to persons struggling with acute mental health concerns and/or psychosis. Currently, Jessy also works at a trauma center providing clinical therapy to survivors of violent crime.

Jessy utilizes an eclectic blend of treatment modalities but leans most towards a Cognitive Behavioral Approach with elements of Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy added in. Jessy strives to build a safe and supportive environment/relationship in which she and clients are able to work collaboratively to explore, process and heal from what are often very uncomfortable and/or distressing situations (past and/or present), thoughts and/or emotions.
