Sarah Abelson, MS.Ed., MHC

Sarah is a Mental Health Counselor providing therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services.  Sarah also provides ADHD Coaching services to adolescents and adults.


Sarah specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults, particularly those struggling with stress management, organization/task completion, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationship issues. Sarah has also worked with individuals and families facing cancer, chronic illness, and grief. Sarah, with her background in educational psychology, has additional experience working with individuals and families with concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, behavioral issues, and learning disabilities. Sarah uses an integrative approach in working with clients to thoughtfully select the most appropriate techniques with each individual. Sarah works to use a client’s own strengths to empower them throughout their treatment.


Sarah holds multiple degrees, including her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Masters degree in Educational Psychology, with a concentration in School Psychology, both from The College of Saint Rose. She has over 8 years of experience in the fields of mental health and education.


Sarah is a member of the American Counseling Association and is also certified in Mental Health First Aid.


Sarah's services (including short-term or long-term therapy and ADHD Coaching) are private pay at a rate of $60 per session.
