Shirell Favor
Shirell is a Mental Health Counselor with Freedom First Psychological Services, providing therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Shirell is a graduate from University at Albany’s Mental Health Counseling Master of Science program. She previously obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science from the University at Albany. As a Mental Health Counselor, Shirell's foundation in psychology and political science equips her with a broad understanding of human behavior and societal influences.
Shirell previously interned at Freedom First Psychological Services, where she gained experience in an outpatient clinical setting. During her undergraduate years, Shirell was a hotline assistant at Middle Earth, providing peer/crisis assistance to students over the phone. She also has experience working as direct support staff in residential settings for individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health disabilities.
In her therapuetic practice, Shirell's focus on individual experiences and cultural awareness underscores her commitment to providing personalized and inclusive care. Her expertise in trauma-informed care and her clinical experiences with a range of mental health issues such as ADHD, anxiety, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, and familial difficulties further enrich her ability to support her clients effectively.
