Taylor Whitesell is a Licensed Master Social Worker, providing therapy services for children, adolescents, families, and adults at Freedom First Psychological Services.

Taylor obtained her Bachelor's degree from SUNY Plattsburgh in Psychology and Gender & Women's Studies, and her Master's in Social Work from SUNY Albany. Taylor has enjoyed working in both community mental health and private practice settings, meeting some incredible clients and families along the way.

Taylor has experience working with diverse populations with a range of mental health diagnoses. Specific areas of interest include ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Taylor prioritizes a client-centered approach that lets the client's needs guide treatment, pulling from various approaches as indicated. Some common examples of approaches include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based strategies.

Taylor finds purpose in connecting with clients, in helping them realize their potential, and in providing a warm environment while helping them to meet their goals. Authenticity, acceptance, and connection are key tenets of what Taylor believes to be crucial in any experience in therapy. She believes when clients are able to show up as themselves, openly and freely, real healing can take place.
