Victoria Kohan, LCSW
Victoria Kohan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing therapy services for children, adolescents, adults and families at Freedom First Psychological Services.
Victoria has several years of practice providing in-home and outpatient therapy to children, adolescents and their families. Victoria has worked with diverse populations with a variety of presenting problems, including depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, family dynamic issues, and other social, emotional, or behavioral issues. Victoria also provides supportive therapy to parents/caregivers and families related to issues such as grief/loss, divorce/separation, adoption and attachment .
Victoria is skilled in working with children with a history of trauma, including foster care placement, death of a parent, sexual and/or physical abuse, and neglect. Victoria has specialized training to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy to Children and Adolescents.
Victoria graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University where she studied Public Communications and Psychology. Victoria provided a year of service as an AmeriCorps* VISTA volunteer, where she provided early intervention services. Victoria went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Columbia University.
Victoria uses a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, and treatments are tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs. Victoria provides an array of therapy services that include Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT, DBT), Person-Centered, Gestalt, Attachment-Based and Family Systems therapies.
Victoria is able to accept CDPHP and Fidelis insurance.
